After Closing Ceremonies, I figured it was time for dinner. I met Cerulean and asked him if he'd like to dine with me. He was hungry, all right. But we weren't sure where to eat. TGI Friday's? He'd eaten there before and had terrible service. Subway? He didn't really want to go there yet again. Asia on the Parkway? Sounded kinda fancy and possibly expensive. Anywhere else seemed to be too far for me to walk. So we sort of half-settled on TGI Friday's and headed out.

Out on the street, Cerulean said he wanted to at least look at the Asia on the Parkway menu and check the prices. Good idea, I thought. So we walked up to the window. The prices were quite reasonable, actually, and the dishes sounded good. (Although I noticed one dish, Hunan chicken, had at first been mistyped as "Human chicken" and then corrected with whiteout!)

Food good, but service slow. The place had a long narrow bar area lined with windows onto the street, and a big dining room to the side of that. We were seated at one of the few tables in the bar area, where we could watch people (mostly furries) walk by. Several other groups of furries came in to eat, but they were all led into the main dining room where we couldn't see them or chat with them. And even though we were seated right next to the cash register at the end of the bar, the service was sloooooow. I later found out everybody in the restaurant was getting slooooooow service. Perhaps they were understaffed or short-handed.

I startled Chilly! After I ate, I went through the main dining room to the restroom to wash my hands. On my way back, I said hi to the various furry groups seated there. At one table, there were about eight furs, one of whom was Chilly Mouse, who had her back to the room and was preoccupied with browsing through somebody's sketchbook. Just for fun, I snuck up behind her and leaned over her. The shadow of my head on the page was her first clue that there was somebody behind her. She thought I was a waiter and I startled her!

More to come!
